Donna poured her heart into her promotional products business for
33 years.  It was a labor of love, and it
scratched that ‘creative itch’ in all the right ways! 

While she’s still in the industry, selling the business meant the
precious gift of free time, but more importantly it allowed her to free up her
mind to create in a whole new way.  In
2020, searching for a way to relax, she picked up a brush and some acrylics,
and painted one of her favorite scenes, a sunset.  She was hooked.  Viewing sunsets has been a favorite pastime
for decades, and now those photos serve as inspiration for many of her
paintings.  Her love of travel, hiking
and photography come together to provide endless inspiration. What better way
to honor God’s beautiful handiwork than to capture the wonder of nature and
share it with others. 

While experimenting with different styles and techniques, Donna was on a
search for photos of beautiful songbirds to paint.She got a giggle out of a photo of a rooster
peering at her in one of the images, and decided he’d make a great subject.Quite by accident, a fun color scheme and
personality took shape, and the first Bossy Bird was born. Each Bossy Bird starts
out from an image of a “real” rooster, but takes life right on the
canvas!  Each one is a unique character that puts a smile on the artist’s face
as it emerges!Hopefully the whimsey of
this line will put a smile on your face too!
